Prior to meeting David Trent approximately 13 years ago, I knew that I needed to be doing something for myself, but lacked direction, drive or con dence to succeed. I felt I was going nowhere!

Then one afternoon I met David and he took the time to engage in a conversation with me which allowed us to get to know each other better. In a short time, David began offering me words of encouragement and supplying me with videos, tapes and reading material. David’s constant words of encouragement began to improve my self-confidence and desire to forge forward no matter how many doors closed. I knew eventually, a door would open, and there would be no stopping me.

I contribute a good part of my success to David Trent, with his high level of integrity, honesty and his contagious ambitious
nature.

  • Marlon Haynes, Entrepreneur, Mentored by David since 2002

David Trent is an extraordinary person who served as my mentor when I was a teenager. He took me under his wing to help me reach my goal of making the varsity basketball team. In the process I developed as an athlete, and even more so as a man.

He taught me not only how to dream big, but also how to identify and incorporate speci c disciplines to make those dreams become a reality. Because of David Trent’s impact, I have a winning approach to life that has helped me accomplish goals as a young adult.

  • Jeremy Keck, Business Executive, Mentored by David since 2005

I have been extremely fortunate to have mentors who have played a major role in shaping who I am today. David Trent is one of those few who have played a tremendous role in my personal development.

While I was growing up he told me the people you spend time with and the books you read will make you into the person you will become. I have no doubt this advice and the resources David has provided me through the years have been integral to my personal successes.

  • Stephen Newell, Pharmaceutical Sales Rep, Mentored by David since 2004

Over the last few years he has taught me several methods of how to grow my business and cultivate my personal life. He is a very busy man and didn’t have to help me, but we both and rewarding offerings from each conversation. He sends me weekly wisdom emails, partakes in monthly phone conversations, and provides endless business brainstorming sessions with me. He even provides me with books, and has taken me on trips!

His passion to see me succeed has taken my work ethic to the next level. David has taught me to set high goals. His mentorship and friendship has been a vital part to my success.

We primarily work with people who recognize that they don’t have the time or temperament to handle their own financial affairs. These are people who desire to work with a trustworthy financial advisor rather than a commission-based salesperson.

A large number of our clients are teachers, nurses, and college professors. We’re very familiar with the investment options in their tax sheltered annuities and 403b programs, and we help them avoid costly mistakes often made by others handling their own finances. We also work with several business owners and a diverse range of professionals.

Our clients come from a variety of backgrounds, but they have many things in common. They’re educated and successful, and they seek guidance in managing their accumulated wealth. We help them define what they want and provide financial solutions so that they can lead more prosperous and fulfilling lives. Our clients appreciate the rewards of hiring TCM because we simplify their lives and free up time to have fun, travel, and pursue their hobbies and passions.

The greatest advantage we have over many financial planners, stockbrokers and insurance agents is our independence. Employees of larger brokerage firms or insurance companies are highly encouraged to sell their own proprietary products, which can possibly have expensive and confusing fee structures. However, this may not be in the best interest of the client. TCM, on the other hand, is a fee-only advisory firm and has no proprietary products or sales quotas. We are advice-based and service-minded.

We assure our clients that we’re large enough to serve them, yet small enough to know them. Impeccable client service is the highest priority. Our clients choose to do business with TCM because of our attention to detail and the exceptional service we provide. When you call, you can expect and will receive prompt, courteous service.

First, we believe that any sound retirement strategy and investment plan must be tailored to, and aligned with, the specific needs of each client. Therefore, we spend a tremendous amount of time listening to our clients in order to fully understand their objectives. Only through attentive listening and individualized planning can we help them match their finances with their visions and goals. Second, we believe any wealth preservation or wealth building strategy must encompass asset allocation and diversification. Finally, we establish business relationships that are founded upon the highest levels of trust, integrity and service. Seeing our clients financially succeed is of utmost importance.

Most of us encounter strong emotions when dealing with money issues, and understandably so; money is tied to our feelings of success, safety, and self-worth, and it leaves an impact on our lives and freedoms. The trouble comes when emotions drive investment behavior. Emotions often spark reactive, short-term decisions that end up being counterproductive to long-term financial security. In the 1990′s, it was all about greed. Now, it’s all about fear. The media’s portrayal of market instability makes people really concerned about their financial future. In good times, and in challenging times like these, people need a competent and caring advisor who can serve as a buffer between their emotions and investment behavior.
